Nama set to be passed into law

The Government's bank rescue plan Nama has completed its passage through the Dáil and is expected to be signed into law shortly.
The €54bn plan to clean up the bad loans from the country was accepted by 81 TDs with 65 opposing it.
The Taoiseach Brian Cowen, and former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern were present in the Dáil for the vote, but the Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny and Dublin South TD George Lee were absent.
A spokesman for Fine Gael said the party leader had a pairing allowing him to miss it, but Mr Lee had been meeting business people in Waterford and did not have the luxury of a garda escort
or Government helicoptor to get them through the heavy traffic for the vote.
